Silent extraction power in high-end kitchen architecture. Together towards the ultimate kitchen.
For five generations, Grietens Concept has been creating interiors with character. What began in 1922 as an electrical shop in Leuven has evolved into a high-end full-service interior studio, where architecture, craftsmanship and technology seamlessly converge. Marthe Natens works alongside her parents in the family business, giving Grietens Concept’s rich heritage a contemporary expression. Within this vision, Novy is a trusted partner, delivering refined cooking solutions that combine architectural freedom with technical reliability.
“With Novy, we don’t feel like a customer, but a true partner. They don’t think in terms of products, but in solutions that strengthen our design.” — Marthe Natens
Anyone familiar with Grietens Concept will recognise the approach: spaces are never treated in isolation, but always as part of a cohesive whole. That philosophy is no coincidence. The company has evolved across generations, keeping pace with changing ways of living.
From electrical retailer to kitchen specialist, from kitchen specialist to bespoke expert, and ultimately to full-service interior architect, each phase broadened its horizon. In the 1990s, Sonja Grietens and Jan Natens laid the foundation for this integrated approach. Today, five generations have contributed to the success of this respected family business. Marthe Natens, interior architect, represents the current generation.
The secret to their success? Listening carefully to their clients. How do they want to live? That question is always the starting point.
Grietens Concept guides renovation and new-build projects from the very first sketches to the final finishing touches. Structural interventions, bespoke joinery, material selections, lighting and furniture, everything is designed within one coherent vision. This A-to-Z total concept is unique in Belgium.

Partnering with the very best
Within this holistic vision, the kitchen has played a key role for many years. No longer a separate room, it has become the heart of the home. And that calls for strong, reliable partners.
The collaboration with Novy spans more than 35 years and, according to Natens, is built on trust. “They understand how we work. They think along with us in terms of solutions and are always available when we have questions.”
While Novy’s Belgian heritage is certainly an advantage, what truly matters is the exceptional quality and deep product expertise. “Novy’s products meet our clients’ expectations and are technically outstanding.”
Grietens Concept’s confidence in Novy was reflected in the complete renovation of a warm, characterful doctor’s residence, featuring both the Novy Undercover and the Novy Pureline.
The Undercover has generated significant attention within the kitchen industry. This induction hob is fully integrated into the worktop and remains invisible until in use. “I had initially selected something else,” Natens explains. “But when the Undercover was launched, I immediately knew it would fit even better.”
What particularly appeals to her is the sense of calm it brings to the kitchen and living space. “Because the hob is seamlessly integrated into the worktop, the clean lines of the design remain uninterrupted, a quality that is increasingly important in open-plan living.”
From a practical perspective, it is equally impressive. The Undercover delivers the same power as a traditional induction hob and operates with a separate control. The surface is even easier to clean than a standard induction hob, and installation runs smoothly.

Combining pure craftsmanship with installer-friendly integration makes this product truly unique. “Our fitters complete a short online training to fully master the integration. Installations proceed seamlessly thanks to clear step-by-step instructions. And for them, it’s rewarding to create something so refined.
Clients, unsurprisingly, are immediately intrigued by the Undercover.”
Several bestsellers
In addition to the Undercover, Grietens Concept frequently selects the Novy Pureline, a ceiling unit that combines powerful, whisper-quiet extraction with an almost invisible presence. Ideal for maintaining a clean and minimalist ceiling aesthetic.
The Novy Panorama, featuring integrated extraction within the hob, also aligns perfectly with contemporary open-plan concepts. “For projects without external ducting, this is a highly effective solution,” says Natens. The extraction operates via an integrated tower, delivering powerful yet whisper-quiet performance. It only appears when cooking and, thanks to its intelligent design, adapts effortlessly to any pan height.
Calm as a guiding principle
What unites all these choices is the pursuit of calm. “Today, the kitchen is part of the living space,” Natens concludes.
Grietens Concept understands better than anyone that this evolution demands thoughtful decisions. It is precisely in this shared search for tranquillity, integration and technical refinement that the family business and Novy have found one another for more than three decades.
